Camel Safari into the Sunset of Dahab
Those who like it are crazy about it. People say that there is simply no better way to explore the vast area of the Sinai Peninsula guided by Bedouins.
The Dromedary eco-behavioural adaptations include the ability to withstand long periods without fresh water, it's an ideal vessel to cruise around and experience the Sinai desert.

Her comment: 'Warm water, strong wind, great people... Dahab is an awesome place.' See her sponsors:
Acting like an aircraft wing the peninsula of
Dahab spots 5 km into the Gulf of Aqaba and produces 300 days of wind from 4 Beaufort upwards, water 22°-28°C, air 20°-40°C.
When I was there I spent my time at the
Coralia and I remember two excellent flat water spots and a wave spot outside in the Gulf of Aqaba with extremely strong winds, I used the 4.5 qm all the time.
Assalah (Dahab) with its sprawling conglomeration of palm trees, shops, campgrounds, hotels, bars, restaurants and
dive spots isn't far away. It's a great experience for surfing (kite and wind) and diving as well as for excursions into the
desert.

Excellent Off-Piste Skiing Tignes, France 2007
Capturing a day like this is awesome. When just perfect skiing conditions come together resulting in fresh powder, early sun and deep temperatures it's a pleasure to enjoy a day off-piste skiing on the treeless heights of Tignes between 3600m and 2100m of altitude.
By the way, did I mention the glorious
YouTube/AJAX search integration? Check it out further below:

Ridiculous DSL Speed at German 1&1
In business as well as private sometimes it's necessary to rethink one's cost structure and shift money into more useful services . Last year I upgraded to a faster DSL connection including VoIP, downgraded the useless ISDN to analog and bought a new domain. Then the typical
1&1 disaster began:
- 1&1 was not capable to manage a seamless transition from ISDN to analog, they cut the line instead
- It's possible to lose data in the account after selling or deleting a domain
- Instead of the expected DSL 6000 (download: 6016 kbit/s, upload: 572 kbit/s) I experienced and I still experience a result below DSL 2000
- Helpless customer service...
The good thing: Enough time to find a better ISP!

The general route runs south through the Atlantic Ocean, around the tip of Africa, and then around the Southern Ocean. The route generally covers in excess of 28,000 statute miles (45,000 km) over open ocean. The next
race will start in
Alicante, Spain, in late
2008. I'm excited!

Being First to Publish New Information
Isn't it fantastic, within seconds one can take part in a worldwide distributed live-communication and reach an international audience living in states such as California, New York, Florida, Germany, China and even Israel and New Zealand?
As a result of a constantly growing acceptance of social media the global audience has set a new standard for online creative content, online news, audio and video streaming with a potential to reach participators not bounded to a single geographical region or language and thus to broaden reach and to attract the attention of niche markets and markets that did not exist before.
I think I was first yesterdy :-)

YouTube's Rewarding Creativity soon
The new Me-, My-, You-sites give control to the user and benefit from a word-of-mouth spreading through blogs and social networking resulting in an explosive growth. Competition has now generated new models to capitalize on knowledge and popularity: Sharing (ad)revenue.
As the
BBC reports:
'YouTube founder Chad Hurley confirmed to the BBC that his team was working on a revenue-sharing mechanism that would "reward creativity".'
Shaping a business model based on the idea of a community means to balance the divergent interests of users, artists, the entertainment industry and technology.
I think that sharing (ad)revenue is a good way to keep communities going. Producing a good video as well as a good site means a lot of work and should be honored.
To take advantage of the business opportunities in media and entertainment industries a transformation of the traditional creative and business processes enabled by digital technology has to take place to create solid online communications, to serve the
community with outstanding services, to ensure further developments and last but not least to hook in some of the best social turntables are some reasons.

From Russia with Love - Moscow 1908
When I visited
Moscow the last time I experienced a town with foreign stores and designer boutiques dominating the
Gum and other famous shopping malls near the
Red Square and
Tverskaya Street and an unbelievable amount of traffic even on Sunday when people returned from making their
dachas winter proof.
The more I got surprised when I discovered this fantastic video featuring Moscow in the year of 1908: An amazingly quiet winter idyll besides the Moskva River.
Since electronic publishing has become more and more individual sharing photos, amateur-made videos and personal mash-ups of film screenings have become an excellent resource to reflect the diversity of culture.
See some excellent photos of today's Moscow:

Bye Bye German 1&1!
Thanks to
modern controlling mechanisms it's become a pleasure now to control my
Internet service provider 1&1 and the results were disastrous. Instead of the expected DSL 6000 (download: 6016 kbit/s, upload: 572 kbit/s) I experienced a result even below DSL 2000 (
download: 1.978 kbit/s, upload:184 kbit/s).
To be sure it's recommended to run
this test several times at several days at several times. I checked
1&1 with their own tools and with independent tools, but every time I run the test the results are similar. Several complaints at their customer service led to nothing.
So I'm saying:
Bye Bye German 1&1!Make your mind:

Fascination of Immersive 3D Experiences
Immersing oneself in
scuba diving is not only a passion or a lifestyle, it's a great opportunity for self improvement, to meet a lot of great people, to share that experience with others and to help to preserve that experience for the future.
Immersing oneself in virtual worlds to explore new places and opportunities is an exiting new trend and engagement that may represent the next steps in the evolution of the Internet complementing that of
ubiquitous computing.
Currently there is about
12 mio people who participate in and with MMOG's regularly, every second is
involved in WOW and assuming that an average player is about 30 years old and spends more than 20 h a week participating in his favorite experience immersive 3D experiences represent attractive new business opportunities.
Why I'm fascinated? Because I like diving...
When I started scuba diving more then 10 years ago I remember my motivation was to explore new places and experience a different world with new colors, shapes, textures and creatures in clear, tropical water staying underwater for periods of time greater than human breath-holding ability allows. I followed several
PADI courses and 100 dives later I passed the instructor level with the leading organization
Euro Divers Worldwide.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Val d'Isere, l'Espace KillyThe slide show will tell you about some of my favorite off-piste that l'Espace Killy offers. I present these more to be viewed where we have skied rather than to encourage you to do the same. The risk zero doesn't exist in the mountains. Off-piste skiing involves analyzing the mountain to find these safer areas, skiing in a manner that minimizes risk and being equipped.

Once your Boss Calls you a 'Fieldmarshall'...
...you are an ENTJ ('
Myers-Briggs Test For Programmers'):
'Business executives, CEOs, organization founders, business administrators, managers, entrepreneurs, judges, lawyers, computer consultants, university professors, politicians, credit investigators, labor relations worker, marketing department manager, mortgage banker, systems analysts, scientists.
They are born to lead and can steer the organization towards their vision, using their excellent organizing and understanding of what needs to get done.'
ENTJ's are:
- Aggressive
- To the Point
- Decisive
Some hints for 'HR managers':
'The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is frequently used in the areas of pedagogy, group dynamics, employee training, leadership training, marriage counseling, and personal development. Fieldmarshals search more for goals and policy than they do for procedures and regulations.' (Wikipedia)

Design and YoUser-centric Innovation

The ability to anticipate YoUser needs and to think outside the box are key factors to focus on YoUser-centric innovation with a core competence in creativity and new forms of innovation driving it forward based on an intimate understanding of
YoUser culture.
Design and innovation can actually reshape an entire brand or the
marketplace in which it exists and create an experience that YoUsers remember. During the early stage of a product or service I'm often creating
designs and mockups to visualize and communicate in an effective way, to define the use-case, to deliver functional specifications or to code with the purpose to
- create new opportunities for self-expression and collaboration
- complement and compete in products and services
- leverage network effects and monetization

Huge Market for Google Checkout in Europe

Experience showed that centralization into a single European currency provided many practical benefits for citizens, I'm thinking of travelling with a single currency and buying goods and services abroad, particularly when coupled with the progress of eCommerce it fostered significant growth in trade within the euro area and seen overall it's a big step forward in user friendlyness.
For most German retailers offering a web shopping cart means trying to follow and copy the Amazon model - tschibo.de, otto.de, quelle.de, weltbild.de, neckermann.de, conrad.de, buch.de - their number is endless, a shopping cart is a shopping cart with or without customer reviews and customer experience seems to be a foreign word for them although they should be able to form an attention loop to gather continuous feedback and establish an environment to optimize value.
On top of everything most of them don't even care about the critical areas where their shoppers drop out. Checkout and payments technology should address convenience to get onto a path the Web can really improve one's life.
The single personal Google Checkout provides an experience that centralizes and stores payment information and purchase history across several merchants for buyers and extends reach and enhances security for sellers, it even reduces costs through clever financial incentives accepting Google Checkout as a payment method.
Experience showed that a centralization on behalf of a user simplifies the checkout process, leads to more sales and returns customers thus Google Checkout is a wonderful new thing that really can improve one's digital lifestyle. I'm expecting Google Checkout to enter the European Market in 2007.
