Ridiculous DSL Speed at German 1&1
In business as well as private sometimes it's necessary to rethink one's cost structure and shift money into more useful services . Last year I upgraded to a faster DSL connection including VoIP, downgraded the useless ISDN to analog and bought a new domain. Then the typical 1&1 disaster began:
  1. 1&1 was not capable to manage a seamless transition from ISDN to analog, they cut the line instead
  2. It's possible to lose data in the account after selling or deleting a domain
  3. Instead of the expected DSL 6000 (download: 6016 kbit/s, upload: 572 kbit/s) I experienced and I still experience a result below DSL 2000
  4. Helpless customer service...
The good thing: Enough time to find a better ISP!

  Bye Bye German 1&1!
Thanks to modern controlling mechanisms it's become a pleasure now to control my Internet service provider 1&1 and the results were disastrous. Instead of the expected DSL 6000 (download: 6016 kbit/s, upload: 572 kbit/s) I experienced a result even below DSL 2000 (
download: 1.978 kbit/s, upload:184 kbit/s).

To be sure it's recommended to run this test several times at several days at several times. I checked 1&1 with their own tools and with independent tools, but every time I run the test the results are similar. Several complaints at their customer service led to nothing.

So I'm saying: Bye Bye German 1&1!

Make your mind:
